The Manistee Conservation District is partnering with The Northwest Michigan Cooperative Weed Management Area (CWMA) which has been spearheading the effort to eradicate Garlic Mustard in Manistee County. Public awareness for this highly invasive plant has been growing steadily since the group's inception in 2005. We have partnered with the CWMA to help educate landowners and disseminate information on identification, life history and control of garlic mustard.
The CWMA covers a four-county region, including Leelanau, Benzie, Manistee, and Lake Counties. Each county's respective Conservation District serves as a conduit for public information, news, and upcoming events regarding garlic mustard control.
Check this page often for meeting announcements and upcoming events hosted by the CWMA!
